The Lone Tree Tapes is an 8 part horror audio drama inspired by Lovecraftian themes and done in an analog horror inspired style. 

Our narrator introduces us to a series of tapes that belonged to the recently deceased husband of a childhood friend. But these are no ordinary mix tapes. Between the music a story unfolds of strange events that occurred in a small town in northern California.

There are many things associated with bad luck: walking under a ladder, having a black cat cross your path, breaking a mirror, and anything to do with the number 13. Today we'll be looking at this number and some of the reasons why it has been seen as symbolic of misfortune and disaster.

"If you're not careful and no-clip out of reality in wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms..."

These words appeared at the beginning of a paragraph on the 4Chan website back in May of 2019 describing a picture of an empty office space. Since that day The Backrooms have become a popular subject among fans of internet horror.

However, the development of the Backrooms has not been the work of a single person. Wiki users have submitted hundreds of levels, programmers have created video games based on the Backrooms, YouTube creators have made videos about this place, and (shameless self promotion) the host of this podcast and a friend of his wrote a table top role playing game called Caught in the Backrooms.
