Strange and Interesting 12: The Backrooms as Folklore
Sunday Feb 05, 2023
Sunday Feb 05, 2023
"If you're not careful and no-clip out of reality in wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms..."
These words appeared at the beginning of a paragraph on the 4Chan website back in May of 2019 describing a picture of an empty office space. Since that day The Backrooms have become a popular subject among fans of internet horror.
However, the development of the Backrooms has not been the work of a single person. Wiki users have submitted hundreds of levels, programmers have created video games based on the Backrooms, YouTube creators have made videos about this place, and (shameless self promotion) the host of this podcast and a friend of his wrote a table top role playing game called Caught in the Backrooms.
Which you really should check out at www.caughtinthebackrooms.com
In this episode we'll take a look at the development of the Backrooms and why, in my opinion, it can be considered a work of modern folklore.

Monday Jan 02, 2023
The start of the new year is a time to look ahead to the future, and in some cultures it is traditional to practice divination rituals to get an idea of what may lie ahead. What better time is there to do an episode about one of the most well known forms of divination, the tarot cards?
In this episode our guest Nicki Ojeda discusses tarot cards, past life readings, and archetypal embodiments.
You can find Nicki on Facebook and Instagram at Tarot with Tatiara. You can also connect with her at https://linktr.ee/tarotwithtatiara?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=68671c6d-e833-467f-8ca4-f65a820ac092 and www.tarotwithtatiara.com

Geekery in General 271: Historical Gaming-The Age of Hobos
Monday Dec 26, 2022
Monday Dec 26, 2022
As the year 2022 draws to a close let's go out with an episode about one of my favorite hobbies: Dungeons and Dragons!
Historical Gaming is a series where I discuss possible ways to do a D&D campaign in time periods outside of the realm of European inspired classical fantasy. In this episode we'll learn a little about what it was like to be a hobo in early twentieth century America and how you might use this for a campaign set in the 1920s-1930s.
